Hmm, well, arinna-chica, you give an awesome response, and I totally agree with all that you have to say about our dearly beloved Byakushi! And annie, I agree that Bya is extremely wound up, socially, physically, and emotionally constrained ... but with all that said, it's because I think Bya-chan would have such a difficult time letting go, that seeing him give in completely to someone (in this case Renji) makes their relationship all the sweeter. Perhaps this is why when I read ByaRen, I don't feel that the two are truly connecting, that it's more a case of Byakuya reveling in his power over others and not really getting anything out of the relationship. Whereas when he gives himself over to Renji, that shows such complete trust, it makes me love the pairing all the more.

But as you can see, I'm very much a romantic, and I've definitely romanticized this pair! I haven't read the manga, but the anime gives us such "cookie cutter" personalities for these guys at times, so I have to imagine that there is more to them than what we are presented with.

Ahh, I figured out how to change the sub-title of the group, so now it's obvious that this club is open to RenBya and ByaRen fans alike!

If you're all good, I'll somehow convince Byakuya and Renji to strip naked and engage in a mud-wrestling match. Use of kidou is disqualified, but shunpo is encouraged. We have to let Byakuya think he has a chance at winning.
