it's been a while, so I might be wrong, but didn't one of the sub groups do that with the names, too? it was different written than pronounced?

Well I guess I must have lower standards .. I enjoyed the DVD .. the name change just threw me off is all. I don't think the English VA's were bad at all. *shrugs*

It does have the option to watch it in Japanese as well..

Ahahaha... I think the ONLY thing that bothers me about this series is that everybody's name is THE SAME practically! Shuurei, Shuuei, Shuuran, Seiran, Ryuuran, Ryuuki... it's like there were really only 6 relationals to use as combinations to names back then (I'm secretly waiting to meet Shuurei's long lost cousin, Shuuenryuugetsu!) But Hong? That's a little "too" different, being a different language and all. How funny. *shrugs*

Oh, Kou is used for yellow too... I see. If they changed Kou Kojin, then his name would be : Huang Kijin

@dexluv77 : Yes, I agreed that the characters' names in japanese pronunciation is too similar because of the limited sounds, but when you take a look at the "kanji" they all are different. ... However, some of the names for the guys seem too girly ... it's just certain "kanji" characters seems to fit girls more than boys from a chinese perspective..

@buzzy - there was a fansub group that had given all the characters names in Chinese - I guess they were consistant but I think it was a chinese sub, not sure.

wha? Im quite lost.. what is a Saimono?

I don't really like anime dubbed coz I guess when you watch it.. it doesn't feel original anymore and true enough that the voices used with the dubs are unnatural. =)

I also bought the S1 of this anime but then just as everyone said.. its hard to wait for the releases so I just watch the RAW version.. then if the releases comes out.. then I'll watch it again.. coz they are all so pretty that I can just watch it again and again and never get tired of it.

@bun^ny ~ saimono is just saiunkoku monogatari but shortened so its easier to type than the whole loooooong title
