SAIUNKOKU MONOGATARI

Yeah ... I think the lack of subbing is a BIG part of what's keeping me from the second season. Even though I was initially freaking out over the harem-ness, I get over that stuff pretty quickly if the story's good XD

I just love this anime. One of my favourites! I like Ensei and Kouyu.. they are so adorable! ^^ But of course.. Im quite interested with the plot but then again.. they are drawn so pretty themselves that watching the anime is quite fUn as well.

I know, it's actually just their sheer beauty that originally encouraged me to watch and KEPT me watching the show. I have to admit, I always did find Ensei's beard a little weird ... like it's drawn funny or something.

i got hooked in my randomly participating in soul_spirited's trivia contest with wikipedia'd google'd answers! then i found both the seiyuu cast and the pretty bishies got me interested, so there was nothing stopping me from downloading
i like the anime because it shows a strong determined woman doing things to help the people and against convention, but its just a little disheartening when there are always some people who go against her and sabotage things, even though thats to be expected (like in real life) obviously there are the bishies but i think its good that they are often portrayed by their relation to shuurei and how they help/hinder her

and the chibi's in the anime are fantastic

There are so many interesting characters and the series keeps evolving, you really can't stop watching. It started off as just another shoujo-romance type story, but then it really surprised me. Love Sakujun & Ensei, but ur right about that beard-thingy, is it just to make him look more rugged?

I too basically stopped at the second season ... I know it would drive me batty waiting for each release ... so instead I just archive them until I know it's complete .. then I'll watch

I bought the English DVD #1 about a month or two ago... I didn't mind the dubs - but it was a little freaky because the voice of Shuei is done by the person who does Barbie in the Barbie movies (hey I have a 10 yr old girl - so sue me for watching - and liking - the Barbie movies ).

Also, I don't get why they changed her name to Hong from Kou... unless it was to avoid the confusion with other Kou....

@Too_troublesome...you had to mention the Hong. Its the reason I have not ordered the english DVDs

@Dai-kun - I agree about the pace of the season 2 subs... its so agonising, the wait so I am looking at the RAWS!!!

@ Too_troublesome : I don't understand about the name change from Kou to Hong, but for someone who's a bit chinese. "Hong" is the chinese pronunciation of "Kou" which means the color red...

they changed the name O_o did they change shuurei to chinese too, coz that would so weird if they kept her name in japanes pronounciation but changed on the family name ...
its possible they changed it because the other Kou clan (yellow) is pronounced the same even though it's a different family ~ wikipedia says its Kou Kijin (masked dude) *shrugs* why didn't they just change the other name and leave shuurei's alone then >_<

i'd hate the dub coz there'd be none of the jap seiyuu who are about 50% of the reason why i watch the show (the other 50% are the bishies )

@shattered - yeah her ame is Shuurei Hong and her father is Shoka Hong and theres Reishin Hong and Kurou Hong too. They all have Japanese firstnames with Chinese surname.
I think if they wanted to avoid confusion then Kou (yellow) was the one to change!

And I am vexed because I was prepared to order the DVDs from Amazon until I saw the weird names!!
