@ link: I totally agree That's why I stick up training and training even though I don't always like it I still train because I'm the type of person who wants others to be happy. So Pokemon too ^^ That reminds me: I need to play the last part of Pearl. I'm gonna knock them down
@Wolfje Well, when you're living in Limburg itself, having an accent certainly isn't a problem of course. But up north (read:in the Randstad), it might become different. Yes, everyone says it's so cute, but that's about it. How on Earth can you make an angry statement with a soft g for instance? Even cursing still sounds 'cute' And Limburgish ministers don't really sound "fierce", do they? Take Maxime Verhagen and Camiel Eurlings; when I see them on TV, I've got something like "point one finger at them, and they'll fall just plain dead". They sound weak, imho. Ok, I must admit there isn't really one strong minister in the whole cabinet, but you get the idea. Maria van der Hoeven, on the other hand sounds a lot stronger (not that I agree with her, she's still a member of the CDA ) Her accent is smaller - still there, but smaller. Jeez, I only now realize that we've got a lot Limburgish ministers in this cabinet. :O I don't know if that's a good or bad sign *closing stupid self-pity thing * Aah, about addictive games, I was sooooo happy I saw an ad about EVE Online this morning that it is being sold at the Free Record Shop Now I don't have to go to these never-heard-of German websites, which I can't understand anyway. And I so the most hilarious advertisement on the TVs in the bus today. The product was called "choke-a-duck". It was a Duck-like stressball, which you could choke if you were angry. The stupid thing even costed 20 euros. Nah, I'll stick to the old fashioned stress balls
oooooh stressballs!!! aka squishy balls! *grabs one of the desk and starts squizing* @pokemon... I used to be an avid player of gold on the game boy *shames* but it was fuN! back then atleast... @10thplague: I really don't understand those people who would pay €20 voor a rubberducky that squeeks when it is choked... it borders on animal cruelty, all those poor rubber duckies, all choked because some people need angermanagement... *starts making buttons against rubber-ducky-cruelty*
@10thplague When i first read it, i was reading 'choke-a-cock' o.0 This would definately be a better way to release stress..... You seem to be so political engaged haha, I thought you would be proud that you have your local people in the Kabinet. Eurlings was on tv just now, and he seems to be a man advertising 'positivism'. He was so extremely happy that he can lay more asphalt to build more highways >_> You can disagree with him, but he was certainly very confident.... And funny thing you are commenting on Maria van der Hoeven's tiny accent, I think she is tiny herself too haha But she still emits that power of authority, she was after all previously the minister of education :P @Pokemon, is this topic taboo? we feel so ashamed of it that we play it haha I feel the same way. I always have to find a way to legitimise that I still play it. My classmates (who are all adults ofcourse) accept that I am a Pokemon fan whenever I refer to it or flash my mobile phone around (it has a strap on it with a Pokemon) because of the fact that I'm a bloody asian. I don't know if that's a good thing, but I can't avoid the stereotype of the culture of cuteness caused by the Hello Kitty mania....
@wolf, and yes... pink is my fav color... why is that so weird? XD I hardly ever use pink cause it issnt suited for a guy but I totally love it >.< looks so cute ^^ *starts to play pokemon pinball* pinball is way better then anything else XD *cough*
Can I have one of those buttons, Nihmmie? ^^ I am very much against abusing rubber duckies. (starts making protest signs) @Migz: Hehe, I was just being mean. Pink's cool. And at least you dare to speak out your preference for it, right? ^^ (smirks) I still wouldn't wear it though... (looks down at feet) Well, except for my socks, because Snoopy's on them... ^^" @Sander: Hm, ever though about therapy for that accent issue? Neh, kidding. Hm, well, about Maxime Verhagen and Camiel Eurlings... I just think it's there personality that makes them seem like that. But then again, I don't think it's that bad. >< It's more in the overall attitude as far as I can see, but I guess that if you already have the 'cuteness' factor, your screwed. (smirks) Also, if the accent bothers them, they can always glare and growl in a threatening way ...although the cabinet might turn into something akin to a zoo ^^" (but that's means more work for me! - hehe) @Link: Hm, I did play something gameboy-ish with pokemon because a friend of mine had it and I borrowed it for a few days... I liked training the Pokemon and keeping them happy. But since i don't even know what exactly I played shows how game-deprived I really am. (although I did manage to get myself a zombie with the Sims - evil lol)
AAH what did I miss? I bet I missed a lot! *thinks about reading everything she missed* *sees math-homework* *sighs, and decides not to* I've been totally non-active here -.- Exams coming up, and *talking about games* I've been playing games a lot . But but but, I'm gonna keep track of the conversation from now on!
@ Wolfje, LOL, therapy. Well, I've never thought of that before Not seriously anyway. I don't hate the accent that much! But the cabinet might become a zoo, you say? Isn't it a zoo already? @Link You must've been watchting Pauw & Witteman, right? I saw him there a few minutes before I went to bed. He was contemplating something about "with this financial crisis, people use their cars on a less regular basis, so that we can do more road-building". Well, he was right about it; but he doesn't solve the traffic problem in principle. But that's a different story entirely, of course And Maria van der Hoeven, I actually quite like her. I don't know why, but she seems someone I could get along with (apart from the political stuff). [chauvinism]But hey, she's from Maastricht, so she has to be good [/chauvinism] (she's still a minister though, this time for the Department of Economical Business (not to be confused with Department of Financials )) @ Kreatio Yeah, where have you been? We've missed you! I'll hold you to that promise ! ! @ Nihmmie Yeah, that was exactly what I thought. Why the heck pay 20 euros for strangling a plushy duck? x_@
Wow, grin if I stay away people start talking I'm not this much into politics like you guys, I read more news about nature and Ministery of LNV. *To grumble about our minister:P* oh and I love to hear things like Wilders being banned from England. I always love the impression our government makes on other countries. And for mister Eurlings he is a bit strange in his statments. So if people use less cars you should build more roads?!? That sounds so silly. But I'm not so knowledgable about these things so I won't say too much about it. @Nihmmie: I never get why people want to strangle something or pinch a stressball when they are stressed. I just cuddle up with an animal and I'm fine again @Kreatio: Oh exams! Good luck with those!
@ Maskelle, Nah, he thinks it's only a temporal decline in road-usage. He now has the opportunity to build more roads for the future (when the crisis is over), without causing too much annoyance. And a stressball surely can be relaxing. I always need something in my hand to play with, and for instance when my PC is doing weird - and I get the temptation to throw it out of the window - I just squeeze my stressball to death xD Or, if I don't have a stressball available, I'm gonna play some kind of shooter; killing all those virtual German soldiers certainly has an effect
