I dunno about macs sorry! But I do know that WinRAR's b*tchng about it's limited free use is crap. Whenever the prompt shows up saying the free use trial is over just click on the red cross of the prompt and badabing badaboom you can just continue using it. The prompt will keep showing up whenever you use it but just keep pressing that red cross and no worries. I've used it for years like that and had no problems what so ever.

I have a Mac. I use UnRarX which is free and simple to use. Rars work fine on Mac as long you got the program.
