how to convert flv files to avi

Hi!!! I have a big problem: I have downloaded some flv videos from youtube and I want to convert them into avi format.


Can someone tell me what program I have to use ????

Well I use the riva flv encoder: link but it only has 30 days free trial. If you just want to watch them, you can watch them in vlc player without having to convert them.

I also tried Riva to convert flv videos, but the audio won't convert. I can only get the video, but there's no sound!! the sound will only play on Media Player Classic, but not on any other player. Can someone tell me what I did wrong??

It's worked for all my conversions. You might want to play with the audio settings in the encoder to find the setting that works for you.

Clover86, it's not a demo, it's a fully functional converter, it just has 30 day limit on use. I bought the encoder myself because I felt it was worth it. I don't know of any free encoders for flv to avi.

Oh, maybe the one that Inao points to will work. I've never tried that one before. Maybe because there is no download link on that page though. If there is, I'd like to know where.

Start Downloading SUPER ©. Under the text with the red border you wil see:
"download and use" written in blue. Click on it. Now scroll down, the download links are on the bottom of the page.
I know it's a bit complicated.

Just a word of caution for using eRightsoft Super, the sound and video may not be synchronise. That's my experience, the software has a lot of option for convertion and I am always a bit confused on what to choose. Maybe that's my problem, not the software problem.

If you have a rather fast internet connection, you can use online converter. You can convert almost anything to anything there. Just put in the link (yes, you can directly put in the link from youtube) or upload the file and wait for the converter to convert the file into the format you want and give you a download link for the converted version. The download link will stay for 24 hours.
