Window Vista - system won't start up?!

Not sure what happened.. I looked online and it said that if you use USBs with your computer this might happen, and I used several to connect things to my computer last time.

I'm trying to turn on my laptop today and a startup error screen pops up, it tries to solve the issue but it can't so I can't turn on my computer essentially. I just got it back from the repair last week since it had a virus, so is there any way of fixing this yourself without calling anyone or sending it away?

Just this box that says it will scan for problems - and an hour later I came back it said it couldn't figure out why windows isn't starting.. I don't know what to do I don't remember my computer coming with a windows CD or anything and I don't have it backed up ><

By any chance, did the computer came with some cd's when you got it?

no none :/ Windows was already installed I think, and the rest of the programs I got from people

So then windows doesn't load up after the scan? Did you try going in with safe mode to see if it does the same? (When you switch it on, it tells you which button to press to go in safe mode, I'm not sure it should be F8 or something).

BTW. Since you mentioned the USBs, did you try to disconnect everything?

When Pressing F8 or whatever the button on your laptop is, try Last Known Good Configuration first. If that doesn't work, then go for Safe Mode.

I had it once. I had to restore my system. But I have windows cd. It's strange you didn't get one when you bought your laptop. I also had everything instaled but they gave my cd anyway.

The cd's wont say Windows, some of them would say recovery disc or something, and yes, when you purchase a computer(or laptop) it suppose to come with some cds , if you had them, it would be good so you can reformat the laptop. And if unplugging the usb's doesn't work, I think the best thing is to take it to someone who knows about computers, hope it gets fix soon!

I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come with any, neither mine did. I guess it depends from who/where you buy it from. But yes, you should pay attention because you should get the CD. If you manage to find or get the cd from somewhere, I'd guess a format is the best if you still didn't find a solution.
