Well, is the name of the srt file the same as your video file?
They have to be the same name if you want the player to load the srt file automatically.
i used vlc media player so i usually just load it by selecting it manually and not changing the name,
hope this helps you
I don't make any changes. I dl the movie play w/ Windows players classic...it doesn't recognized the code. I tried VLC but it doesn't at all.
Depending on what viewer you are using, either the *.srt file will be linked automatically or you will have to direct the player to it.
However, check few of these steps:
(1) did you select the sub channel in your player? Not all player will display the subs automatically... or it can be set to no subs... sometimes you have to validate the settings. With VLC, You can chose either the file to open for your subs and you can check if it is enabled or no
Subtitles1.jpg
(2) Did you validate that the preferences/settings are set to enable on-screen subtitles?
With VLC, you have this menu
Subtitles2.jpg
(3) Did you check if your *.srt file is not corrupted? Try to reload it just in case
... Also, as mentioned by kazune, usually the *.srt file will have the same extension as the video file. Ensure this is the case to smoother integration...
That would be a starter... If you got all parameters set ok and still it is not working, let us know which file you are trying to play (include the links to video file and *.srt files) and we can try to simulate the issue...
Not working. Reload movie and still won't play anything...I give up! What next?
If using WMP to play your files, are you using cccp?
If so you can easily turn it on with the filters as I explained in the Cannot play codec help thread..

specially the part about VobSub
If you have vobsub then it is easy, just make sure the srt files are int he same folder and the file names have the same nameAnother option; once you play the video files in your Taskbar near your clock the filters will open; Look for the Vobsub icon and right click it. There you see your subs and tick them on.
deathnote01.mp4 needs the srt file to be deathnote01.srt
If you have vobsub and then play it then it shoudl automatically load in, if not then right click the vobsub icon which appears when you open the file and the subs should be listed there.
In media player classic it is the same, read the post for links etc.
Remember you do not open the .srt
