Help with Absolute Obedience-Start problem

I'll try playing it on a bigger screen but-
Absolute Obedience-it wont even start up! I click on the shortcut and all I get is an error box with DirectDraw failed to initialize written in it D: nothing after that even! I tried putting it into windowed mode, but even that does nothing.

This is very annoying. Please help me?

try running the .exe file, not the shortcut. that sometimes works for me. if not, screenshot the error box?
you might be running multiple DirectX version so that sometimes causes it to crash.

Same error with the .exe file, alas.
I tried the diagnostic, nothing is wrong with DirectX or Direct Draw. :<
The screen print button doesn't work xD

Did it say your DirectX was up to date?
Do you have Japanese fonts installed on your computer?
You can always try to reinstall it, maybe in a different folder?

Yup and Yup, unfortunately. I've tried reinstalling it a few times now, with no success. I think that it may be that my laptop doesn't have enough juice to work it-the graphics card isn't good enough, perhaps?

i doubt that. its probably a system error. or the files you DLed were corrupt. sometimes it helps if you redownload.

Hi! From the sound of it, I think there's something wrong with the installation? I'm not sure though... Why don't you try downloading this file, instead? It's not a link in AF, but it's a torrent for the .iso of the original English version of Absolute Obedience. It's the one I use on my Vista OS laptop, and it doesn't even require you to switch to Japanese.

The installation of this file is simple: just load it using either Daemon Tools or PowerISO (or some other ISO program) OR burn it onto a CD using said program, then install.

Good luck, and hope you manage to get to play. It's a really nice game.

even with the redownload, same troubles. ;n; So I don't think it was the game files...
