. : Neat Stuff I Found : . . . It's kind of sad, but I have a huuuuuuuuuuuuge accumulation of bookmarks, a lot of which I have been dumping here. Mostly for love of you guys, but secretly because it's hastily shortening my list of bookmarks, as I can easily find my stuff now (most selfish reason to make a group evar). But, there are a bunch of links that are super awesome, but have nothing to do with anything (it's not a story, or a manga, or a webcomic, or anything discernible). So, I'm going to throw them here. And, once again, please feel free and encouraged to post your own strangely awesome things here as well! I've also added a rating system, if that tickles your fancy. If you've checked out a particular link on the list and would like to voice your opinion on it, please feel free! I only ask that you make your rating somewhere between one (for very bad) to five (for very good). . wikis and encyclopedias . Harry Potter Wiki. Summary: Everything you could ever possibly want to know about the Harry Potter universe, from lists of known spells, to gossip about the final movie! Rating: ■■■■◘ (4/5) Opinion: "Sometimes the information has almost no references to any part of the book, and information from the books and movies are kind of mashed together, which sometimes makes for convoluted pages. But, come on. It's a Harry Potter Wiki. I need my wizard fix from somewhere." - KazeYami. Uncyclopedia, the Content Free Encyclopedia. Summary: The encyclopedia that was made for the purpose of being edited into gratuitous inaccuracy by its users. Rating: ■■■■■ (5/5) Opinion: "Even though this website should really only entertain me for an hour or so, I could actually probably browse it all day until my gut busts and explodes out my side from incoherent laughter." - KazeYami. Vocaloid Wiki. Summary: About Vocaloid - "Vocaloid and Vocaloid2 are voice synthesizing applications. There are many different vocaloids, such as Meiko, Kaito, Miku Hatsune, Rin/Len Kagamine and Luka Megurine who sing in Japanese or vocaloids like Sonika, Big Al and Miriam who sing in English. This wikia is dedicated to the exchanging of information on the Vocaloid program and sharing the passion of their music. All are welcomed to edit freely, all we ask is you reframe from non-productive edits or acts of vandalism and that you be nice to other editors so this wikia can mantain a safe friendly working environment for all." Rating: ■■■■■ (5/5) Opinion: "Everything vocaloid in one definitive place with lots of links and explanations about everything. The only vague complaint is that there are few images attached to each page, but whatever. That's what danbooru is for." - KazeYami. . blogs . Unreality The Most Badass Alphabet Ever. Summary: I've read this blog enough to understand it's a geek centered magazine type thing. But, the only post I really care about is the alphabet one. Rating: ■■■■■ (5/5) Opinion: "Epic Awesome!" - KazeYami. . fiction sites . AdultFanFiction. Summary: An alternative to fanfiction.net that is strictly for adult oriented fanfiction. The rules are extremely strict, so be sure that you are eighteen years old before you enter. But, it's a great source for smut and more disturbings styles of literature. Rating: ■■■■■ (5/5) Opinion: "A well moderated and great site with all it's priorities in order." - KazeYami. Archive of Our Own. Summary: "The Archive of Our Own offers a noncommercial and nonprofit central hosting place for fanfiction and (long-term) other transformative fanworks: i.e. it is free to use and does not make any money. It is multifannish, and built on open-source archiving software designed and built by and for fans. It is hosted on servers owned by the OTW, and therefore not vulnerable to a commercial hosting company deciding they don't like our fanworks." Rating: ■■■■◘ (4/5) Opinion: "Once again the product of a lot of great people who didn't like the way fanfiction.net was doing things. This site is both a place for fanfiction and original fiction, which is why I like it. But, it's still a beta and has a two week waiting list to become a member. So, that kind of sucks. But, otherwise, a great site!" - KazeYami. Forever Fandom Unlock Your Inner Muse. Summary: Forever Fandom is an archive for authors and readers alike, run by authors and avid readers. We're offering this archive as an alternative to others around to allow *all* authors the freedom to express themselves in whatever ways they please. Rating: ■■■◘◘ (3/5) Opinion: "I moved to forever fandom for a while in a mini-protest against fanfiction.net. However, every story I posted got next to no attention. Though, this might just be because it's a newer site. I'm not sure. But, I thought I'd throw it up here. Nya." - KazeYami. . music . Bandcamp. Summary: "Bandcamp is a publishing platform for bands, or, anthropomorphically/arthropodically-speaking, your fifth, fully geeked-out Beatle -- the one who keeps your very own website humming and lets you get back to making great music and building your fan base. If this all sounds as highly satisfactory to you as we hope, we invite you to check out the screencast, or cut straight to the chase and sign up for a free account. Welcome!" Rating: ■■■■■ (5/5) Opinion: "This is another one of my 'fight the man' websites. But, this one is really awesome. It's for artists who mostly don't want to hand their lives over to a record company and, instead, post all of their music on Bandcamp. The great thing is that you can listen to whatever you're thinking of buying before you buy it. Plus, you can choose to donate money to the artist, as well!" - KazeYami. Little Steven's Underground Garage. Summary: An epic streaming website that gives me the Underground Garage sections that I miss on my favorite radio show. It's a mash up of oldies, alternative rock music, and other awesome stuff. The DJ, Little Steven, has one of the sexiest voices that I've ever heard and lots of obscure knowledge about everything. So, each show is dedicated to something (examples: Rocky and Bullwinkle, Frank Sinatra, et cetra). Rating: ■■■■■ (5/5) Opinion: "You can't often get me to listen to podcasts or radio talk shows, but I really like this one. It's got a lot of personality." - KazeYami. Pandora Radio. Summary: The Music Genome Project[/u] UNFINISHED LIST! >O
