I was into Sherlock Holmes as a kid, what are You guys talking about?
I havent read all the books(far from it) But I do distinctly remember my favorite story I read of their adventures when I was a kid was the tale of The Spotted Band. I even had the classics illistrated for Sherlock. I was even trying to investigate my own mysteries as a kid, using 'deductive reasoning'.
Today I love both the movies and the BBc show for Sherlock, he keeps the fine cogs of my mind well oiled and allows me to notice details in real life that some people around me dont even pick up on.
No Im no Sherlock myself, but danm do I love a clever rouge!
