How did you get into Yaoi or Discover AF?

I was watching AMVs on YouTube when I was 12, a yaoi one popped up and I liked it~~
Aarin subbed all of the yaoi anime I watched so I googled this site when I was about 14 but I wasn't old enough...Joined on my 16th Birthday >___<

Um... Let's see... I descovered yaoi when I was... 14? I went through a phase of buying New Type magazines at the time and discovered Gravitation on the Previews and went o_O Is that two guys kissing??? Then went... Actually... That's kinda hot... Then started the urge to find more.

Aarin happened about 2 years after that while I was going on a yaoi doujinshi searching spree.

I got into Yaoi through fanfiction. I'm pretty sure it went something like this:

Sailor moon fanfictions -> random lemon fanfiction site -> Yaoi fandom pairing fanfictions (from ronin warriors, weiss kreuz, gundam wing and probably a few others - these were before I ever watched any of the anime ).
I got into Yaoi manga from when Fake/Gravitation first came out (whichever one came first), I started collecting those by the volume.
I believe Gravitation was the first Yaoi anime I purchased. I imported it from the US when it was first released - it was about $80 for the first volume + box and $60 for each volume after (in NZD). And then it came out in NZ (years later) for a lot cheaper

According to my postbit I joined in 2005, but I can't remember how I discovered aarin.

I came through fanfiction as well though mine went:

Card Captor Sakura fanfiction -> Touya/Yuki fics (pg rated) -> slash pairings in whatever else I was watching at the time, Gundam Wing mostly I think, and through GW into lemons and PWPs etc

I was...12? maybe 13 ^^;

Then I found SakuraCrisis a couple of years later through a search that I remember was in no way related to manga and went 'omg! I can get comics too!?' and since they were a mixed shoujo and BL group I got into the BL side of things too ^^

I found Aarin either linked from SC or through one of their affiliates, maybe MochiMochi? and joined to download something I couldn't find anywhere else (then proceeded to forget it existed for nearly a year before starting to join the games in the Contest section)

For me the main thing I go for is fanfiction - I can easily read upwards of 50 stories a week - and though I follow yaoi anime and manga I will put them aside before stopping reading some fics ^^

How did I discover Yaoi?
Hah, internet of course!
For me, living in NZ, there's barely any variety.
It's the internet that contaminated my brain. First it was deviantArt, then it was Naruto, anime and youtube, and now it's Encyclopedia Dramatica.

..It's true, the internet really is for porn...

it all started when i was searching for anime on youtube, and i was soon obsessed!
