@Cheezy - Oh no, I didn't buy VF in Japan. Twas the English licensed one, sorry for the misunderstanding. At the time, I didn't know Kino was bringing in yaoi mangas so I ordered them from AT. I want to cry at how much they ripped me off since I ordered the whole set of Gravitation and others. But after the Haru wo fiasco, I stopped going there coz I was not pleased at the deposit first for special order. I mean dude, do I look like the order and run type? And also I hated that they rip you off on the anime dvds. Licensed, my arse. But after I discovered Kino, AT was history for me.

Ah, a fellow Time Lag fan *jumps up and down in excitement* I think this series is under rated. But I guess if it had novels like OtRFK it would achieve fame like OtRFK. LOL

I wanna compare how much difference the price compared to ordering from Borders.
Is Kino still opening for orders or no more (for yaoi manga)?

@Aarin - Kino definitely not taking anymore orders. I've only ordered from Akadot and Yaoiclub. EMS is definitely very costly from these two sites. It costs USD60.50 for the EMS.

BUT OMG!! I just saw the amazon site for the VF series and jesus, they are outrageously expensive 100+ USD. It's not easy to find VF in English..I saw vol. 3 going for USD366+...I only have vol. 1 & 2. Good luck Aarin!! You'll be better off with the scans till a new publication of English VF can be had.

Yes, Time Lag. It's has a pretty sweet storyline. Kinda in the OtRFK mould. You'll like it if you like OtRFK. Tis licensed by DMP, I think.

Yeah...I was gonna try bidding VF on ebay before but the price got so high that I had to rethink again T___T but I would really like to get my hands on the vol 1 &2. Actually how many vols did VF got licensed? Are there any english scanlations for VF or not allow to distribute anymore?

Aarin: I think it's the same if you order any online stores. I do compare that if some stores offer yaoi titles at over 50% discount price the shipping is a bit higher...it's like they mark up on shipping & handling so for me it's better if I just buy them at amazon. Amazon shipping cost roughly min USD8++ per manga depending on weight...using standard International shipping (which is the lowest shipping option) and delivery time should reach within 10-14 days (from my experience) and if the customs don't hold the books which thankfully I don't happen to me...yet.

@Hime-sama - BeBeautiful only published up till 3 vol. of VF. The last volume came out in 2007. They haven't been releasing any new stuff.

I heard around the community that when Biblos went bankrupt, their licensing deal with BeBeautiful and others were considered void, so when Libre took over, they had to renegotiate the new terms for the licensing. But BeBeautiful didn't want to. Libre declared that BB is infringing on their Copyright and asked the fans to boycott BB releases, so the licensing of VF and Haru wo and others were stuck in a limbo. You can't publish coz Libre don't allow, and I guess the others don't want to touch those series until the licensing issue has been resolved.

I guess that's why English vol. of VF is so rare now. BeBeautiful's site has not been updated in ages. I believe the scans are allowed to be circulated since technically VF isn't licensed anymore. Same with Haru wo and Kizuna..What a pity that BeBeautiful licensed the some of the best titles in yaoidom...

I also heard that Yamane sensei was not happy with BeBeautiful's quality of work and so when Crimson Spell was licensed, she was more strict with them regarding the quality.

Yeah too bad...because VF is one of the best yaoi story I've read (well...the scanlation version only) and Yamane-sensei's men are all drool worthy...I also love yakuza based story...another one I currently like is Yakuza in love by Shiuko Kano >_<

@Rage78: XD Well, I also like her other manga called My Precious and her collection of oneshots in Gin no Kaze Tooi Toki. And 366 USD for VF3? O.o;; Hardcore fans...

Anyways, I am really a newbie when it comes to yaoi manga ya~ I have spent some years all this while watching only animes (+ yaoi ones of course), but never really get into getting manga myself. I first bought a Gakuen Heaven manga just for fun when I was browsing Borders Berjaya Times Square with a friend when I went to KL last year. Then this year I started on Junjou Romantica. I see there are lots of Gravitation and Fake mangas on the shelf though, I wonder if it's not very popular? There's also other labelled Yaoi Manga but I am not sure what other titles are good.

I like angst (like Nowaki x Hiroki in JR, or Ai no Kusabi), mystery/twist (anything like twist in plot such as Death Note or Code Geass), comedy romance (like JR etc), dramatic (cliff hanger), dark-themed (like vampire) or cool looking guys (like Squall or Cloud from Final Fantasy).

Not into manga with shota or guys that acts/dress exactly like a girl. So any recommendations? XD

@ Aarin & Cheezy- I guess BeBeautiful does give that Japanese publisher feel XD. They sure had loads and loads of problems even before the Biblos problem hit. Biblos was just the last nail in their coffin. LOL! At the way things are going for them, I doubt any other Japanese publisher would want to let BB license their titles. But their mangas were the most expensive of all the other publishers...I had to pay about RM50+ for Haru wo, VF, Kizuna. Outrageous!!!

There's another one - Hybrid Child. The last story just really made me cry. It was tragic and sad...*sniffles* Maybe you wanna give that a try but I only hope you don't kill me if the angst in the last story does not match the angst in AnK...I thought it was sad enough to make me cry...

Kusatta Kyoushi no Hyouteishiki is pretty good too..It's got angst, comedy, romance etc. Love Mode is good too as well as Silver Diamond (SQUEE!)

Perish the thought that Gravitation is not popular. I think many of the newbies who want to venture into BL and yaoi world started with Gravitation, myself included. FAKE is not too bad. The main pair only consumated their relationship almost at the end of the last volume. LOL! It's about 7 vols. long I think. Give Gravitation a try but the artwork is not very pretty in my opinion. It was shock going from the anime to the manga. Such a big difference.

@Cheezy - The vol. 4 novel of OtRFK is not what I wanted...sobs, I thought it was in English but twas only illustration...Oh, I'll give those titles you mentioned a try. I tried Sayonara no Riyu but I didn't really get into it - I thought one long series in a volume but rupa-rupanya it's a series of OS...

Yeah, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw USD366. It was insane...I think no one took up the offer yet.. it's just too expensive even for VF..If I was as rich as some of our politicians, I'd buy it without second thought lol!

Your remark about Asami's mouth being quite *flexible* has me going into raptures and having spontaneous nose-bleeds. You are EVIL!! XD
