@MC Denno: well, you are very educated indeed But the trick about organising this whole thing is not overplanning .... just a rough schedule is fine.... We gathered around 12.00 at the station, had to wait for a bit, as loads of trains were late (gosh, that never happens at all).... there's no way to say how long we stayed at the shops and museum, as I didn't look at the time at all (time flies when you're having fun!!)... What I can recommend is contacting the shops and asking everyone if they have series/ manga's they want, so they can pre-order! And making a list of the people that want to come, with phone-number and/or MSN (via PM), for pre-meeting contacts Make sure people know your number, so they can contact you when their train is late .... for example Please don't overplan, you don't have to know beforehand how long we're gonna do what... We had time to: wait for all to arrive, walk to the museum, walk to four/five shops we were hoping sold manga (not all did though) (it is wise to take the most economic route, so that we wouldn't have to walk back and forth... Luckily, I had help from A'dam-native Link) ánd we got to eat at MacDonalds (yay ), watch some guys strip at the dam after a fangirl went absolutely crazy for our flag, go dvd-shopping, and three of us even went to a kebabshop (all before 19.00).... So don't plan too much, visiting a few shops and going eating and drinking somewhere is nice, although I hope this time it won't have to be the Mac. We need to have time for spontaneous things, right ! We spent most time at the American Book Centre, where they had loads of manga, and at Henk, who had ordered lots of stuff for us, which was nice... I hope this helps *big thumbs up to you for daring to organise!!!* (my, what a long post )
btw MC: You do realise you just asked me to help, right? hehe, I'll hold back and keep it at this @ Kreatio: you must bring the flag !!! It still lives, right?!
Oh my, OF COURSE the flag still lives!! It is in hibernation right now, so i'm sure that it'll be a bit curled up when I wake it on the day of our meeting But it'll be there! (With the stick, right? Hmm... I SHOULD remind myself not to use it as a toothpick anymore, then. *kidding *)
LOL Kreatio, you silly girl *pats you lightly and girly on the arm* Maybe you should put it under a few heavy schoolbooks a week before the meeting, to avoid curling on the actual day?
Oh man, not the flag >_< In Amsterdam we were able to 'blend' in with that flag, because there were so many tourists over there. The tourist's guide, usually hold the unopened umbrella in the air to lead the way. So holding a Yaoi flag up didn't look that weird........ but this time in Utrecht....
Ow SAS!!! now you're doing it anyways >.< be a nice mommy and sit back and relax okay? >.< although that was a really good tip I would never have though of ^^;; but I bet Mc Denno is that smart ^^ dun worry, leave it to him! (dun let me down now Mc Denno <.<) Mauw is coming I just discussed with myself, she's gonna come too! ^^ you guys have a flag? o.O
@ choco, jup we have a flag * points to the pictures above*
And yeh we have a flag XD. And Sas you already did more then I asked you to do (which I kinda predicted on before hand). I know damn well what I did ^^. I will do as you said and don't over plan (and leave room for the spontaneous things.) And I know one shop that has almost all manga's (well the conventional ones, like Naruto, Gundam seed, Inuyasha and some others) plus they have these large boxes with a lot of random comics and they have also some warhammer stuff (for people who like that XD) The other's I haven't been really, but going to... when I have the time (at least for 14 February) and Link we'll hide you when people look funny at us (we'll be like sheep -I dunno if you ever have seen 'the barnyard' - Movie was funny as hell XD) And there aren't a lot of tourist in Utrecht... well most of the time, but they come in waves >.<. Really annoying, you get out of the train, look around and suddenly there are lots of people walking in your way >< like they've never seen a city before. Really annoying.
Yeah tourists are annoying, esspecially when they are going against your direction. A tsunami where you need to pass through >_< But why are we bashing tourists anyway. They are very informative too. When I have the chance I usually pretend to be a tourist too and listen to what the guide has to tell us. It's so funny how tourists tend to believe everything the guide is saying+ get very emotional about every thing said >_< Aha so you are a warhammer fan o.0 You know there is a big shop here in Amsterdam, they sell not only the books but organise battles too, its funny to see lol... Its a bit nerdy but they are apparently having a lot of fun
If the warhammer-stuff is a bit nerdy, does this suddenly mean Mc Denno is a nerd too? o.O Utrecht doesnt have all that much tourists right? I never really liked tourists, they're in the way of me being one. If I want to go to a museum, they're there too somehow disturbing my peace >.< and the flag, looks just like a piece of paper to me ^^;; but I guess it's cool ^^ I'm not gonna walk around with it o.o
