Can't download anything from Firefox >__<

I have a problem, I can't seem to download anything from Firefox..
each time I want to download or save something (even a picture!). I need to open Internet explorer and save it from there >>

I know the easy solution is probably to uninstall and reinstall..
But I want to know if there is any other way?..

This way, if it happens again I will know what to do..

hmm.. i'm not exactly sure, but maybe try right clicking the firefox icon- there's a download option section - maybe you don't have the download part checked on? not sure really, but the problem might be somewhere there lol

You can always right click the links and pics and choose "save target as" (doesn't work with most host services, with them you have to just click on the link and then the download should start).

do what they say, and make sure to double check that firefox is your default browser!

what happens exactly when you try to save on firefox? is there no response or an actual error message saying you cant save? maybe you should check the options to make sure you can see downloads, because i used to select the option to not show download status window when i save. to check go to

Tools --> Options...

a pop up will appear and under the Main tab, make sure the download window option is ticked like in this screencap: (sorry, my screen res is really big so it will distort the page )

also, what's the default folder where you save files to? maybe it's saving the files but to a random place, so you cant find them? you can specify the folder under "Save Files To"

@Sukisho- umm... how am I making it my default browser?..

see the second arrow in screencap - if you tick it, everytime you open firefox, it will tell you that it is not the default browser and ask you if you want to keep it that way or make firefox default. if it is already default then no message will come up.


... is that any help? if not, maybe you need to uninstall and reinstall firefox - it wont affect anything. its just a bit of a hassle
