Is there any way I could put a password on my "hosts" file to make sure it remains "read only"? If I could do that, I'd make up a totally random password and never write it down, so I'd be certain to forget it......

WebBubba apparently decided to stop working on me altogether. Ack. I need to figure out a different way to block the site from my system.

^^ I found the perfect way.

Ok I hope you use Internet Explorer because there is a feature that will let you lock out sites and password protect those settings.

I know how to undo it, and it does take many steps and a reboot, so it should do exactly what you want. So if something goes wrong we can fix it.

So here is what you do. Use "Content Advisor" under the Content tab in Internet Options. Click on Enable, then go to Approved Sites tab and type in the address of the site and then click Never. Then go to the General tab and click on Create Password. If I were you, I would have already typed up your random password in Notepad and that way you can just copypaste in there. Hit ok, ok, ok. (or all the ok's until you exit the Internet Options menu. That should take care of it. ^^
