I honestly have no idea how people go about extracting the images from BL/otome games, but I've never seen the extension of .cxt before... is that what they all use? From what I can find on Google, you should be able to open it with either MSOffice (seems iffy), or Macromedia Director (which would be Adobe Director now, I believe). Both seem an odd and tedious way to rip images. There could be some kind of trade secret here.. hopefully someone that has ripped images from this file type will be around to respond.. ^^;;
Are all the images in one file? Or are they separate with the file extension .CXT? How big is the file if it is one giant one?
Hi...thank you for replying( and please do not feel bad if I am idiot and did something really stupid...we can all chalk it up to a needed learning curve experience)
1- no giant file all or most are small single files(most likely this is why nobody actually ripped this game's images)
2- on average the files range from 700kbto about 6.xxmb
3- this is all sitting in a folder on my hard drive(the game was downloaded from here
........included picture*aka snapshot of how the beast resides in my computer)
Is there a way you can upload a couple of those files to me somewhere to download? I don't have the game entirely to check right now. X_x;;;
If you could grab up to 5-10 of the small ones, I'll have a look to see what can be done. This game seems on the older side, so they may not have used some uber encryption and might make it easier.
here you go Kojichan
Thanks! I'll go have a look now. I'm not too good with files that are Encrypted, but if it's a bit simpler I'll see what can be done.
EDIT:
Ok... So I had a look. The .CXT file format is a packfile (Header XFIR or RIFX reversed). This is not an issue, as the format is somewhat documented on the internet by the looks of it... There's even file extractors. The issue is the files it's holding.
I'm not sure what system the Game uses, but I'm not familiar with these file types. The graphics, from what I can tell, have a file type of "DTIB" (or "BITD" reversed.) I can't seem to find any information on this graphic format, and I'm looking at it myself, but I can't understand it.
I've tried comparing a few of the BITD files together to get an idea of how they might work, but it seems like a form of compressed data for their graphics engine. I'm sorry about that. Wish I knew more.
