Calibre & ToC

I'm using Calibre to organize and convert all my PDFs & fanfics into e-books. now I'm attempting to make table of contents for them but it's not going well. If you have used the table of contents feature and had success using it what did you do? I got it to work but the ToC is at the end of the book not the beginning any idea why or how to move it to the beginning? What do you do to generate a table of contents with Calibre?

Are you converting into MOBI format? If so, you might want to read the relevant entry in the Calibre FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions ? calibre User Manual If it's some other format, please specify which one.
