MP3 to wav and CD Burning Programs

Okay guys, I want to burn a CD for my dad's birthday; he's an older guy and doesn't use iPod's or what not, just listens to CD's Now I used to do this all the time but it's been so long that I've forgotten how!

So, I know you need to turn the mp3 into a wav file to get it on the CD, right? He does not have a CD player that can play mp3's.

And you need a program also to burn the files onto the CD. Can anyone recommend some free programs?

I think most current music managing programs can burn a regular audio cd directly from mp3 files these days. I know iTunes and Windows Media Player do, at least. I remember when you had to do it separately though!

In either iTunes or WMP, you can just make a playlist with the songs you want, select it and use the built-in "Burn" tool - there should be an option to choose either Audio CD or Data CD, just be sure to pick Audio so that an average cd player can read it.

I use CDBurnerXP: Free CD and DVD burning software
It's able to burn audio CD from mp3.

oh-goodness ...no need to convert to .wav to make music CDs now-a-days
years ago you did ..but now just about all CD burning programs can use the MP3's as is...

in fact WMP can burn a music CD if the music is not protected...
but if they are ...you'll need a 3rd party burning program that doesn't care about that kind of stuff

off hand I can't remember what the freeware one I had was called .... but there are alot of good free ones out there

Wow it's clearly been a long time since I burned Cd's hahaha!!!!

Okay WOO I did not know WMP could do it. I'm going to try that now. I also recollected the name of a program called CD Ripper and downloaded it. If none of those work, I will download CD Burner XP.
