Substitute for Windows Media Player?

I hate Windows Media player but use it because I can't find a good substitute. It adds pictures and videos to its library, which takes up processing performance, and which I will never need. I have an OCD and Media Player Classic for that, respectively. I'd use iTunes if it wasn't such a memory hog.

Does anyone know a media player which you can have a library for music files and doesn't index anything else? I'd prefer if it had a decent interface, and not being a memory/performance hog is a must.

If you don't like Media Player Classic, try VLC. http://www.videolan.org/

Personally I've always used Winamp just cause it's a straightforward music player and you can find "skins" for it (like Deviantart). I run a lot of things while on the computer and it rarely ever hogs the memory.

Do you mean like putting music on it to create a really large playlist (library) and save it?
Uhhh I think you can do that with Winamp I'm not at my computer right now, otherwise I would check for you xD

Ok just checked. Yes! You can play from a media library once you set it up ^^

I am with Miyosha and love the winamp player. I use it instead of the player on here since I hate anything that takes my bandwidth. I use wireless so it's slower if you are running stuff that's not necessary.

VLC can play Media Folders, it doesn't hog so many resources and it plays formats that WMP sometimes has trouble with. You can also download the Community Codec Pack and get the "Classic" version of Media Player.
