All I can find on the topic is people still being able to copy files from the drive, you could try and give the chkdsk /f /r a go (Microsoft Corporation and How to Understand and Use Chkdsk in Windows XP <- more detailed and it works just about the same on any OS of Windows). Another that might be worth trying Data Recovery Software, Solutions, Tutorials, Forum - ZAR Data Recovery
