AVG FREE Edition license key

Hi all,

As if my day weren't crappy and stressful enough, now stupid AVG is giving me problems. I am trying to download the FREE version of AVG, and for some unknown reason, it's prompting me for a license key:

"Activate your AVG Free License"

WTH!? Can anyone help me with this? I tried leaving it blank and just clicking "Next" but that won't work. How on earth am I supposed to get a license key for a FREE product that was not purchased?

Missing AVG licence number in AVG installation (using AVG Download Manager)

=> Please remove the next file "keys.dat" and start new AVG installation

Windows 2000/XP:
C:\Documents and settings\<user_name>\Local Settings\Temp\AVGDownloadManager\keys.dat

Windows Vista/Seven:
C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Temp\AVGDownloa dManager\keys.dat

Or:
Start -> Run... (or use the "Start Search" field) -> type "%tmp%" -> OK
- Open “AVGDownloadManager” folder and remove “keys.dat” file

I vaguely remember this, as I've been using AVG free for years, but it's here. The unregistered works for 30 days, you can still have it free (basically forever, unless the change that) but you have to register to get a key. It's all in that link above.

If I remember correctly after registering you only need to press for a new key after that yearly. Avast uses the same system. It is for them to make sure they know it is being used legit, used for statistics and also information if something happens (and forum use).
