How to close Firefox?

I schedule iMacros to run a script using firefox. My problem is when it runs the script, it also opens a blank firefox page in a new window. This only happens on my laptop and not on my desktop computer. The thing is, both desktop and laptop have the same versions of iMacros and Firefox and are using the same scripts. I would like to know how to stop Firefox from opening the new window on my laptop, or at least figure out a way to close it.

Now I don't use IMacros because I find it unneccessary, but one big thing pops up for me with this. Are the main suite programs for your computer and laptop the same (like both windows 7 or vista?) I've noticed that some addons act differently for different suites, and it might be something to comment about if that is the case.

Hi Labrador. They're both Windows XP with SP 3. If you don't use iMacros, do you have another addon for firefox to do repetitve work?

I just tried to work with iMacros, and I think its just how the add on is. Every time I try to open a new browser, a new tab pops up. I can't figure out why it doe that either. What really annoyed me about it was that it upped the main memory usage of the firefox beta 4 that I'm using so I stopped.

I normally use Last Pass for repetitive sign ins, it makes it a lot easier to deal with. Lazarus helps with any forms that are lost (like if you were typing a long response in a forum) and recovers them.

It looks like Last Pass could serve several of the things that iMacros is supposed to do, and it doesn't go and open odd tabs either.

Hi Lazarus. Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for going to the trouble of even installing iMacros to try to figure it out. I also tried to install and older versions of FF and iMacros because I think this only happened shortly after updating... *shrugs*

I'm checking out Last Pass now. Thanks for the suggestion. If I am right, Last Pass doesn't record and replay specific activities. If anyone has any other insight to my problem or other suggestions, feel free to add!

That's because Firefox can't start the imacros script instantly, it needs a few seconds to start it thus it gives you a blank page. Try running the script directly from Firefox instead from the teminal

For closing the window try Alt-F4

@libertypo: Firefox is already open and active when the script is scheduled to run. Also, iMacros won't record keyboard alt+f4

Can you attach the script, if nothing private is in it of course ? I have run the imacros on 3 different browsers and nothing of the sort happens.

Alt-F4 is a system function thus it won't be recorded in imacros. Click on the blank window then Alt-F4

Thanks for the offer libertypo but there isn't anything special in it. I've uploaded it but removed details like my email and password. Anyway, I have just downloaded a new addon called dejaclick and I'm using it to initiate playback.
