    Firefox, memory, & misc.

    Okay, because my laptop is functioning funny again after it started doing fine, I'm not stuck on an old computer I've had since 2003. I have a Compaq Windows XP Home Edition and purchased it sometime in the Fall of 2003. The thing is that I want to know is if I can use the memory from another computer (that is no longer used) or my laptop and place it on the computer I'm using now. Also what do I need (or is it even possible?) to work from my laptop on the computer I have? This old computer has a total of 37.2 GB and that's not a lot when I have to use photoshop (two of them) and they take a lot of space as it is.

    My internet keeps disconnecting, on random times and almost every day! I share it with my laptop and another computer (that's no longer in use) and for some reason it won't tell you when it disconnects until 4-5 minutes later when nothing wants to load. I have a Belkin, and I know it's not the one of the cables because I replaced it a year ago (the clip piece was loose and it would come out of place if I didn't hold it so I replaced it), so what do I do about that one? Uh someone else *death glares* without permission has hooked their ps3 and psp to it too, and he never has either off, but I doubt that is a problem? (I have cable by the way~)

    Now firefox is getting annoying. I know I've read about this thousands of times, and I've tried doing whatever I can to get it to stop, but firefox keeps closing every 10 minutes and keeps giving me the same stupid message (and all my programs keep freezing!).

    so what am I suppose to do when I don't know where to look? I never had this problem with IE -__-; help?

    Could be anything, though most likely it has to do with add-ons that you have in Firefox so my first guess would be trying to start it in safe mode and disabling all add ons

    With memory you probably mean a new HD internal, yes that is possible. However if two can fit I am not too sure. If you want to switch RAM then it gets a bit more tricky since not all kinds of ram are compatible with each computer, you would need more ram of the same kind.

    As for the internet, are you connecting wireless or through a cable?
    Sometimes wireless networks can be a ***** to connect to and stay connected too. Are the PSP and PS3 connected to the internet through your laptop, of course it would feed your own connection speed that way, if it is connected to your modem directly then it should not be a great deal but you could always try surfing online with them disconnected to see if it makes a difference

    I don't have any add-ons (besides the ones that come with ff when you download it). I'll go and do that though, I really want to get rid of the annoyance of losing info on ff when it closes.

    Hmm, then I suppose I'll have to ask the guy that usually fixes our computers/laptops because he said something about adding more memory being possible from the use of my laptop, so I think I'll ask him if it will be too difficult and how much it will cost me ^^;

    I'm connected wireless, I have a Belkin G Wireless Modem Router, the network is shared by 1 computer, 1 laptop, 2 ipod touches, 1 psp, 1 ps3 (and occasionally another ipod touch). The psp and ps3 are not connected to my laptop, my brother is the one who looked up our network and connected to it (he already knew the password) and from then on never wants to disconnect from it even when both psp or ps3 are not in use. He uses the psp daily 10-12 hours a day and fri-sun almost all day (the ps3) and I have no idea what he's been adding unto his ps3, I've been thinking about changing the password and kicking him out completely. I'll have to ask him to disconnect for a little while and see if your suggestion works (or else beat the **** out of him until he complies B| ).

    Do you happen to know if I can choose and control who connects to my network? I also want to change the password but don't want to screw it up ^^;

    You said wireless, do you happen to know another network you can connect to. It could be that the wireless connection part is buggered up, I know quite some friends who with their laptops either have a) the battery dead and need a cable constantly or b) have their wireless device inside the laptop dead so they need to plug the cable in for a stable connection. I don't think it will be needed to disconnect the other devices completely, if they are turned off then it should be enough, but I would certainly try plugging the cable instead of wireless.

    Why I asked if you know another network, you could try connecting to that one wireless and see if the same thing happens.
