be free to post about other programs and i will add it to the list

the best zip program without doubt is 7-Zip
it support´s almost all compression formats and is fast

Comodo offers several products, some of them for free such as their firewall program.

Windows Zonealarm: website Antivirus Software, Firewall, Spyware Removal, Virus Scan: Computer Security by ZoneAlarm
Another one offering various services including a free firewall program, this is the one I use at the moment after Comodo started acting strange after a reformat.

Windows Registry Booster 2 from UniBlue:website Registry Cleaner > Free Scan > Download Uniblue Registry Booster
Not all products are free, this one isn't unless you know how-how. Anyway it is what I use to defrag, clear mistakes and clean up my registry

Definately the best free antivirus in my opinion.

Media player: CCCP
Definately the best codecs pack you'll ever find. Comes with Media Player Classic and/or Zoom Player.
