Okay first of all this would only work if you have Cable and either a Windows XP or Windows Vista. I share my internet with my sister and my internet disconnects once in a while. Are you receiving? Sometimes you can go to Control Panel > Network Connections right click and on 'status' it'll tell you if you're receiving. On that same thing is 'Support' or a 'Repair' which will usually tell you if network card is disabled or enabled, and I usually just disable it and then enable it and the internet will start again. On other occasions you'll have to connect to your modem and enter it's password if you have it password protected or entered it wrong in the past. If that doesn't work go and grab the modem and disconnect the cable under 'Reset' or or it will say 'Power DC etc.' and reconnect it. I usually does the trick.
