Printer -> Computer Problem

Ok so, my printer and computer have been hooked up together and working fine for years(since '06?). And then randomly yesterday I tried to print something and this came up:

So i clicked yes and this came up:
untitled2.jpg

How could the printer randomly just stop being acknowledge as being there?

What is a print spooler?

Any ideas on how to help me?

Several things you will have to check, hook it up to another computer to see if it is being recognized, another chance is that the usb cable is broken. The printer is not listed in your printer screen, which means that it isn't detected which can lead to either the usb cable being broken (I'd first check this) or the printer itself being broken, I think it might be the usb cable. You can get a new one at your electronics store usually, when you buy a new printer they usually ask if you need a usb cable for it

This so weird, I tryed it today and it shows up. So it fixed itself?

yeah that's what I though too, and I tryed that before and it did nothing. that's what's wierd about it.

For anyone who cares, a print spooler is basically a program that manages your printer(s) and does things like ensure that one print job finishes before the next one starts. In Windows, it's built into the operating system, so under normal circumstances, you would never notice it.
