Virus Alert please read

Hey everyone got a word of caution for you.

There is a program online that will download itself onto your computer. It says it’s an anti-virus program but it is in actuality a virus. It will lock up your computer and won’t let you do anything except maybe back up your files, and the only way to recover your computer from this is to crash it and do a system recover. It embeds itself into the program folder on your hard drive.

If you wind up with a virus scan going when you’re online, close the window, shut your computer down completely and restart your computer. It’s the only way to prevent it from taking hold.

The program is called Internet Security, and it is a tenacious virus. If you have an anti-virus program it might pick it up and it might not.

I’ve had two friends get hit with this thing and one of them had to have a whole new computer built because it fried her old one, while I’m currently trying to save my other friend’s computer because we caught it in time(hopefully).

The only thing I ask now is that you are now forewarned about this and will pass this message on to others.

IT HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And guess what? IT ATE MY COMPUTER. DEAD-SERIOUS. I had no idea what to do and before I knew it I couldn't log in my laptop blue screened (I didn't think that was possible) And my perfect PC became mush...We sent it away and someone in our area fixed it but....Its not like before. I wish that STUPID VIRUS NEVER TOUCHED MY COMPUTER!!!!

Anyone know if this virus is associated with certain sites, or if it's an email thing, etc?

If I know what he/she is talking about it will randomly pop up in a peach color anti-virus scanner way~ But I have avast! now so I don't have to worry about that till my computer finishes with the anti-virus program. It won't e-mail and it's not on a certain website. For me it just showed up out of fricken no where!

i think it is just random
I was looking at photobucket the other day when I got hit
but yesterday, I was reading my mail when I got it

anyway, it is just the annoying green and red box wallpaper if you got hit

if you know how to fix it, your computer should be fine

It doesn't come through e-mail, and it doesn't matter what website you're on, but if you're on a website that tends to have a lot of ads or popups, it comes through those. And what it does is show up as a virus scan in your web browser!! it says that your computer has a virus, but it is the virus. and it won't let you delete it either. the only way to prevent it from taking hold is the instant you see it, close the browser, shut down your computer and then reboot. that's the only way to prevent it. and sadly even though i love avast anti-virus, this thing won't let any anti virus program remove it. like i said if you don't catch it quick enought it will kill your computer.
