malware indd
AVG doesn't ask for you to buy anything, it might be the spamware trying to do so
if you have any big red "!" message in your task bar telling you that you need to buy their product cause you have over 9000 infections, that is spyware the whole product is a hoax and infects your pc even more
good free anti virus:
Avast, AVG (Avast slightly better cause it detects some stuff that AVG doesn't)
if it is AVG asking then you downloaded the wrong one -_-;
Avast:
Download FREE antivirus software - avast! Home Edition
AVG:
AVG Free - Upgrade Free Antivirus
both require you to register at their home page so that you receive the activation by email, this code is your kind of like your ticket for a year long
you enter it when you start the program and voila done you're set of to scan
however I also suggest you use this, which is made for malware and what is free
Malwarebytes.org
press on the download free version, install it and scan your computer with it
lastly, something else I want you to do so that I can tell you exactly where this evil thing is
and I'd like you to do this first in normal windows before even doing anything of the above
download Hijack this at:
HijackThis - Trend Micro USA
this program runs out a list of everything your computer has running, including any viruses etc. that are online and causing your pop ups
I want you to use this option: Make a system scan and save blog file
then it will make a list in the program and will show you one in notepad, I want you to copy paste the note pad entry here or in a PM to me
I'll take a look to see which ones are viruses and spamware and with the program I will tell you how to remove those entries
After the system scan you can shut that program down, if you don't do anything silly in the commands it won't do anything different to your PC. It is merely to make a log file of what programs and system32 files are running during the time you make the log and with it you can remove entries that are viruses being active
