    Photoshop and Win7 Problem

Okay, so about a week ago. I gotten a new computer with Windows 7. I have had installed all of my programs from my old computer to my new one. All of them worked well, except my Photoshop CS3. There seem to be wrong with it as whenever I open the program or its shared components they don't work. The program is not responding and I don't see the splash page. The shared components doesn't even bring up a window (though I am more worried with the main program). I have also download the patch from the official site and that doesn't help at all. Please, someone help? I don't want to get CS4 DX

Hi there... I use 'Photoshop CS3' on my Windows 7, and it runs fine to me...

I think its an issue of bad installation, or that you don't have proper admin rights to run the program... Here is some possible solutions...

    • Try to run the program with admin rights (right click the installed exe file, or shortcut, and click 'run as administrator')
    • Try to register the program (if you have a license for it, that is)
    • In the worstest case, you can try to uninstall, then install CS3 again, then register it. However, don't patch yet, first check if it works. Then if it works, patch it if you want.

I hope it will helps! Good luck!

    I'll try the administrator installing.

Before I installed the patch and ran the program, it didn't work as well. I installed the patch after the 3rd-4th time my Photoshop still isn't responding. I can't even get to the window where I have to put in my serial number or the register window.

EDIT: Tried the administrator installing and still getting same problem.

Windows 7 provide backwards compatibility within the operating system if required. So try to run CS3 in compatibility mode for XP3/Vista.. To do so, right click on the Photoshop.exe installed file and select properties. Then go to 'Compatibility' tab, tick the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for', and choose either XP SP3 or Vista. Then apply changes, and try running it.

Mine is CS3 Extended as well and my computer should meet the requirements for the program. My processors aren't Intel but Athlon II. I'll try out the Compatibility > <

    EDIT:
HOLY SHIP TALKING MUSHROOMS! IT WORKS! Thank you so much Twilight!
