Hi there, I know that your question was answered already, but I just wanted to offer an alternative if you use firefox for your browser.
There is a firefox ftp addon called
FireFTP. It operates just like a separate tab in your firefox window, so you don't have to open another program while you are browsing the internet. It has almost all of the functions of other ftp programs (download, upload, rename, copy url, chmod, transfer between websites). The only limitation that I can see after using it for about a month is that you can only connect to one server at a time, but this is a very minor limitation because most people don't need to connect to multiple servers at the same time.
To configure this addon around really militant anti-virus programs and firewalls (like mine), make sure that under "edit -> connection" the "passive mode" box is
unchecked.
Because firefox is my main browser, this addon has now replaced all of my other FTP programs because of the simplicity in accessing it straight from my browser.
