Issue with CAGE -OPEN-

Hey there, I've been playing CAGE -OPEN- and am on the THIRD-DAYDREAM section and there's a choice about what to do about the man outside your car. No matter what option I pick it goes with the first one, which leads to a bad ending. Is this a bug or did I pick a different option earlier that locked me into this route and the choice is intentionally not supposed to matter? I've tried a couple different things and ended up on the same route so I don't know if I should redownload the game or something if it's actually a bug. I'm sure this is a long shot but I wanted to throw the question out there. Any help is much appreciated! I've enjoyed the game so far and want to continue.
