DMMD troubleshooting

im running this game on wine on a Mac, which I know is already a stupid and fruitless move, but after downloading the game from here, I managed to install and run the game until the "message from the princess...title logo" part. Then it just freezes and according to the logs, "data/stack execution not permitted" because of "read/write protections" and then a bit later it says "failed to find shmem ID 1723". Is this a hopeless endeavour or is there some way to deal with this? I'd appreciate any help
