Anicult 2015 Part 1 (Aarin's phone pics)

Anicult 2015 (Surabaya, Indonesia) has been a very fun event for me and my media team of 3 people, despite not being able to explore much of the event booth by booth. The warmth and hospitality of the people there are just extremely... touching and top notch. The staff has been good and helpful towards us throughout the event. The people who attended our booth were so hyper and we totally did not expect such a huge turnout and interest, that we ran out of Crimson Spell postcards to giveaway for each who registered for the lucky draw. We met many fujoshi and even fudanshi during the press con and two event days. I will be showing more pics and talking more about the booth activity on my next thread when the photographer's pics from his camera has been uploaded to me (he will need 1-3 days to do so).

Today, I will be showing you some of the very few photos I took on my phone first.

The event took place at Tunjungan Plaza, a big mall in Surabaya and they were doing preparations at night when they put up the posters of guests of the event. I was totally happy when I see a promo video in the middle of the hall of AarinFantasy's logo name side by side with Libre's publishing, it's such an honor!

Day 0: Press con

We were introduced to Nekota Yonezou-sensei and Libre's editor/producer, Hisako Miyoshi. Didn't expect such an important from Libre to be there as well! Imagine how nervous me and my team were! We were not allowed to show Nekota Yonezou-sensei's photos publicly so I am unable to show it here unfortunately. The press conference is for her and the guest cosplayers of the event. Our team get to interview her and Baozi & Hana for the day.

After that, we headed to have dinner with everyone (staff and guests) together. I am quite familiar with Indonesian food because in Malaysia, I do eat at Indonesian restaurants but anything that says "Surabaya" is something new to me.

Day 1: Event Day #1

Unfortunately, I did not take any pics with my phone to show here. Will be on the next thread when my photographer is ready with them!

Day 2: Event Day #2

So we started our day by going to the guest cosplayers' photoshoot. While some of them were waiting for the others to arrive, we get to mingle with them especially Pinky, Nakoto, Kuryu, Reach and Asuka. We manage to give everyone the AarinSecret magazine too! They were so amused by it and I am very happy to see them flipping the pages with so much interest!

I have some pics in my phone that I would love to show you all too but they were too blur (shaky hands from a nervous Aarin! LOL). I got back to Malaysia the next day, and here I will show you what I have gotten... well, NOT ALL of it exactly because I am saving some for publishing on the next AarinSecret.

I must applaud Anicult for printing such a high quality poster for Nekota-sensei's four merchandise packages! It is totally worth it!

They did MakoHaru cosplay in Day 1. My team member took pictures with them in that cosplay, and she is a huge fan. I didn't because I wanna give them some space and let my team member the chance to do so :)

Baozi and Hana are extremely passionate when talking about BL to us.

Even Nekota-sensei is mesmerized by their charms and cuteness!~ She was fangirling with everyone else over them! haha

Oh.... It's looks really fun! And the cosplayer also cool :D I can't wait for the next part :yay:

I find Baozi and Hana a little different in countries. In Singapore, they are always more reserved. Probably because BL's a forbidden topic here.

Wow! Some awesome posters and such an experience. Unfortunately most important people like that or artists don't live near me so I never get a chance at cons to see them.

I am thinking of hosting an aarinfantasy panel or table some year. Just not sure when, where or what yet XD.

On Day 2, I was queuing for photo booth session with Baozi&Hana and missed your lucky draw event.. Even worse, the photo booth session ended before I've got a chance to get closer to them!! So brokenhearted T_TT_TT_T

so awesome! I wish I had a chance on meeting Nekota-sensei or the Cosplayers! But even if people visit Germany I never have the money to travel to those cites, have a place to sleep there and pay for the even tickets x'D

I'm so happy to meet all of you as well, and got the chance to take photos with AarinFantasy's staff and all the cosplayers (mine with BaoHana is still in Anthony's camera though >_<) It was such a precious experience, it's my first time joining an event as a volunteer. Yes, I also thought all of the staffs are so kind, and so the guests as well. As for Asuka and Reach, since they know Japanese they're always helping me when I can't spell the words I wanted to say. Nakoto and Kuryu also so kind that they're always understand my poor Japanese huhuhu... They're soooo kind I'm so happy! I wish I could meet them and you again next year and have much more happy time ^_^
Oh, I got the chance to take photos with Nekota sensei and Miyoshi san in the last day. FINALLY!!!!
Say my greetings to your friends: the cameraman, the translator and my fellow BaoHana's fans! (Sorry I forgot to introduce my self so I dOn't know their name as well. I'm so embarrased (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥｀) lol

I wish we had YaoiCon here T_T We only have Anime North and Fan Expo here in Ontario (and I'm not a big fan of either con since they care more about the money than the people who go, and way too crowded). I usually take the 9hr+ trip to go to a different province to go to Otakuthon in Montreal (this year it will be more like 11hrs for me to drive there). It is the best con I have been to so far. My dream is to go to YaoiCon in California sometime though (or any Yaoi type cons) :sigh:

Hi.. wanna share my experience too

I also came in both days to Anicult... from Bandung city (16 hours by train), only to met Nekota-sensei and cosplay guests ehehhe... and it's really nice to saw Oro again.. (as she promised)
I cosplayed as Matsuoka Rin FREE SUMMER OVA (Day 1) and Grell Sutclife in gown KUROSHITSUJI MUSICAL (Day 2).

Woow.....photobooth's line is soooo something. My felt tired but my heart was happy XP

But I only came to Aarin booth while you guys is in break time /sob
So I didn't get anything~

In day 1, I was in the line in Anicult booth for bought Nakoto Kuryuu's Photobook ehehhe... at the same time, I heard you guys made some lucky draw for several mangas. Is it?

One more thing..
Although it's already over the deadline (May 29), I still can got Ticket C for Nekota-sensei, special thx to takatsuki raven for reply my (annoying) emails.

In my Grell costume, I joined Nekota-sensei's fan meet.
Nekota-sensei is so beautiful. So happy she noticed me and we talked a little bit in autograph session...
Oh man.. I wish she liked my omiyage (special made in my city)... i wonder she already open it right now or.. ehehhe XP

Other good things..
I reunited with some old friends and made new friends, some of them from Singapore. I missed them already
Some friends even said to me "Why you're not cosplayed as Tokiya? You're so good in that".
Waaw.. and here I thought, if I cosplayed again as Tokiya, people will get bored ahahha..
Hope next time I can fulfill their wishes..

i am really happy i can meet you & your team at the event, Aarin-san. such a nice moment, even though i didn't win your lucky draw. on the first day i was too occupied with guests' photo session & missed the draw. and it seems i overused all my luck at guests fan meet event (i won question drawn by guest 3x, tee-hee...), thus couldn't win any single draw at your booth in second day :'( anyway, i am very happy to meet Aarin Team there. Anicult is such a heavenly event, i can hardly wait for next year (psst, i wish they will invite Ayano Yamane sensei next year, ahahahah...)
