Experience of Naruto Musical

This is the Naruto Musical that everyone was talking about online since months ago. I was thinking "The cast looks really good!". As much as I wanted to book my ticket to attend it but there were many things that stopped me from buying the ticket at that time. So on the day before the last show, I manage to get some free time for the next day and one of my fujoshi friend psyched me to go and even manage to call another fujo friend who doesn't watch Naruto at all to go. So I went "Okay... why not? Just YOLO!". Attended it and no regrets.

Upon getting the tickets, I bought the program book (as shown in pic) that contains info of the characters and show info. It comes with an English translation booklet too! So pretty!~ Love all the photos in it... some are quite BL implied. XD

The show setting is rather simple and not as complicated or extended as those that you can find on a higher budget musical like London's theater show such as Wicked. But it is enough to showcase the actions and emotions of the cast. As it says Musical, well... it isn't really full of scenes with people singing. More like action and talking just like in the anime. There are special effects throughout the set and some are pretty impressive. I particularly like the scene of Sasuke and Itachi doing aerial acrobatics with a red cloth. I like such performances on stage especially when it involves some sort of dance or fluid body movement.

There were also English subs at the side screen although I can somehow understand half of what they were saying. It does feel you are watching the anime coming to live. Many of the characters look just like the anime's characters! Like SERIOUSLY! It's beyond just any cosplay. The cast has to know how to act, perform acrobatics/martial arts and look the part at the same time!

I don't think I should spoil some more. So if it ever comes to your country, do go check it out. Another fellow fujo friend of mine went to 3 out of 4 shows available here. She's just so dedicated in showing her support for this 100% Japanese production, I salute her~

I will leave here a photo I took of Kakashi's actor (Yuki Kimisawa) signing autographs for us and some group of fans after the show ended. He is very handsome in real life! Unfortunately, this is the only decent shot I have of him because his manager/security are a bit strict on photo taking. There are seriously many nice photos in that book! Do you wanna see them? As for me...i like many of the actors from this stage play because they were in The Prince of Tennis musical before (Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi and Kabuto's actors) and i am huge Tenimyu fan:'). So i would love to see this Naruto thingy even though i don't care about Naruto all that much! But it won't be anywhere near my country,of course:/
Anyway,i was like omg! when i saw you met Kimi-sama and got signature from him too. He is so dreamy.

There are a lot more characters in the book obviously, but I am just showing you some pages (not much time to take them all).

Orochimaru is played by a female (a very tall female) but is very convincing because her voice and acting were superb.

I've seen some pics before and I thought they were random cosplay pics, I didn't know there was a musical too. I'm a bit reluctant when it comes to musicals, especially adapted from other series, but you give me the impression that it is cool and fun!

I doubt that it will ever come to my country :lonely:, but if it did, I would go.

Orochimaru is played by a female on the anime too, so I think it fits. Plus it's all about the acting I think.

The actress playing Orochimaru is apparently (former?) Takarazuka...so that's probably why she is so very good at her role^^

OMG what?! Orochimaru is actually a female all the time in the anime?!?!?! REALLY?! I always thought Orochimaru is a MALE!!! Ehhhhhhhhh!!

Actually I need to rephrase "Musical" to "Live Spectacle" because that's what it is written in my ticket and main poster. But it was marketed as Musical months ago, so the misunderstanding. Like I said... it has very minimal singing... probably the end part only. Mostly it's talking and action.

Yes the seiyuu is female. She's amazing, isn't she? I was surprised when I found out too.

I heard about the musical but never really paid much attention to it and forgot it even existed *bad, bad Naruto fan!*. But seeing these pics make me wanna see the show too!! That will sadly never happen though, not live at least. I shall await the recorded version and enjoy that instead.

The guy playing Kakashi is super cute! All of them look really cool! Thank you for sharing the pics, it looks like a beautiful book.

Itachi on stage time is very minimal. I believe Itachi's actor is more of an action actor than one that can talk because he was only doing acrobatics (the aerial acrobatic with a red cloth) together with Sasuke (showing the brotherly love or connection there).

@aarinfantasy; I've seen some acrobatics with the red cloth and they seem so cool and dangerous! It sounds sweet too, the interaction between Sasuke and Itachi. I'd love to see that even if Itachi didn't speak. It seems very cool and I'd love to see their fights with acrobatics, what a fascinating idea!

Looks awesome. I figured the female actor had been a member of Takarazuka. I was lucky enough to go see one of their performances when I was in Japan and it was incredible. I hope that the show comes to the USA! I am enjoying this thread.
