I do not even like shota that much but I like some of it, and I also really like other things that might make some people unconfortable (like rape yaoi and guro), so I know how it feels when someone thinks you're a psycho just because you have unusual fantasies or just happen to like unusual stuff.

And even if somebody has these kind of tendencies, I think it's still better for them to read fictional manga rather than illegal real life stuff which also damages other persons, or even worse to act out on those tendencies.

As long as it's fictional, it doesn't really hurt anybody, so why such an hatred?

As for the yuri hatred, I find it ridicolous, and rather hypocritical: it's just like those guys who jerk off from lesbian porn and then discriminate homosexual men.

I'm glad the staff now officially don't support the hate threads. I think everyone has their own taste, and we should learn to tolerate other's taste even if it's not the same as ours.
And I agree with TommyK: "As long as it's fictional, it doesn't really hurt anybody, so why such an hatred?"

I'm truly glad such rule is created. Since I'm not a fan of shota, I am a fan of yuri. I have participated in discussions about yuri only for it to revert to ignorant, immature, and derogatory commentary from those who have a strong disdain towards yuri or from those who are not truly familiar with yuri.

I have already stated numerous times about my opinions about shota so I will not repeat myself in this thread. I simply hope that this rule will eliminate the derision towards shota and yuri in this forum. Thank you very much!

I never really noticed this kind of hatred on this forum and never would have expected it from the usually quite open minded and tolerant Aarin communtity. Still I'm happy I won't have to fear any hate attacks.

I completely understand shota hate, I understand people's feelings, specially those who have small children.
I understand this kind of decision - to make moderation more easy - and I also understand that the day that shota will be banned is coming, so I will understand also when this decision radically change.

I don't think anyone actually condones pedophilia in real life.

But I am a fan of shota, and I read and love the occasional yuri. I haven't really seen any yuri hate threads yet, but I have seen some flames regarding shota. So I fully support this rule. <3

It's all fiction, and different people like different things.
