I went with #6. The color palette is muted, which conveys (to me) barren desolation; nothingness. The facial expression seems pensive and without hope. Pretty melancholic, don't ya think?

It was a tough choice between 8,3 and 4 for me but in the end I think 8 fits the overall theme the best.

I liked the overall feel of both #3 and #5, but went with #5 in the end because something about the font in #3 distracted the mood.

tough choices this month - i went with 8 because of the quote, how it was done, plus the character's expression. #3 was a close second, though.
