Are you often frustrated of finding out that a beautifully drawn yaoi manga full of potential ends up being too short, or worse, a one-shot? If so, look no further, because today's title is different. It has five volumes and a total of 35 chapters. Yes, still ongoing. Length is one thing, but "what about the plot?" you may ask. Well then, let's get to it.
Ikumi, a high school student, lost his parents in an accident when he was seven. He got adopted by a very caring and kind foster family, but had difficulty opening up to them. For him, it was all about keeping a low profile in order not to be an inconvenience. However, once Ikumi turned seventeen, things changed. First was the meeting with a new transfer student, Ichijo. Second, the strange accidents that started to occur to Ikumi. He would later find out that both incidents were related and that he shared something in common with Ichijo, a shared promise that their ancestors made to each other.
This is more of a shounen-ai style story, and unfortunately for us, the sexy times have yet to happen. It is difficult to say whether we would get to see them in action at all, but I would much rather prefer it to stay that way if it fits the plot better, than trying to cram something unnecessary and ruin the whole story.
Unsurprisingly, the story's focus is on the relationship development between Ikumi and Ichijo, as they go through the highs and lows of the obstacles they have to face. Therefore, this title is more suitable for readers who have time on their hands, looking for plot, character development and growth more than anything else. If this is your cup of tea, you've stumbled upon a gem.
