but im still able to get the basics.

Based on your explanation, rep power for my case would be
- I joined in Sep 2006, 9 months represent 9 rep power
- > 200 posts represent 2 rep power
- > 800 rep points represent 8 rep power.
Therefore total is 19 rep power, right?

But as you can see my rep power is just 18. Can you explain the difference to me?

I think that depens on which day you joined, joined you the 30 of Sep then you will get your point at the 30 of May.

This may be a stupid question but I am still sort of new to the forum. What is the appropriate way to thank someone who gives you rep points? I receivced my first ones a couple of days ago and I want to thank the person who repped me.

Just rep the person back via the blue box on the upper right corner of any of that person´s posts.

But make sure you have activated "I approve", otherwise you give negative rep .

And if you want, you can leave a message to that person.^^

You can see it in > User CP > Checl Reputation. but you can't see who given them, you can only see it when someone leave there name in the message. otherwise you won't know who it was.

From your profile, you joined on the 16th September, so just two more days (16th May) and you'll get your +1 rep power point

If the user who gave you the rep points left their username in their comment, you can search for that user by going to Members List. On the right side, click on Search Members, type in the name of that user. When you get the results page, click on Find under Find Posts.



Click on a random post title they've posted and just rep them by clicking on the blue tick box or 'Thanks' button if it's displayed.



This is just one example of repping someone back, so I hope this helps
