I was about to ask.. but I guess my question is being answered..

But still I would like to ask, is it possible to know who give you a +ve rep?

The only way I know of now (since the feature was disabled) is if that user puts his/her username in the rep comment or some other indication to give away his/her identity. I try to put my username or some shortened version like tt or 2trblsm.

Although since it only shows the last 5 reps/thanks on the list, it is possible to get a rep and not catch it before it gets pushed down the list because others rep you or you get thanks. Thanks do not show you who thanked you in the User CP anymore. You have to go to the post to see who has thanked you.

i spent around half an hour reading all the messages posted on this thread.. it's worthwhile though 'cause finally i managed to have a good grasp of the whole idea of the reputation thingy..

The reputation green/blue boxes that are displayed under 'Rep Power' are like your rank or position among the members of the forum.

Rep Power is the amount of points you give when you rep a person (clicking on the blue tick boxes at the top right corner of a person's post). So say a person looked at their profile (By going to 'check reputation') and has 400 reputation points. I rep that person's post. I currently have a rep power of 12, so that would add 12 rep points to him/her. So his/her total is 412 reputation points.

The 1st post of this thread shows how many reputation points you need to gain the green/blue rep boxes.

No one is down by any amount of rep points. Everyone starts with 1 rep power. Only reason you have 4 rep power is because you've been here for 3 months. Every month that your account is here, you will gain one rep power automatically.

I know that you can see the recent 5 reputations received through the User control panel. Just out of curiousity, are we able to see the past reputations received?

Just to clarify, you started with a default 10 points not 10 rep power. 100 points give you 1 rep power.
