There are a lot more that I have to learn from here.
a lot of things i must understand here
thanks
No bee's anymore i see?
i guess thet did not want the bee any more so now we have the rainbow rep.
They decided to get rid of the bees after it caused problems swarming and stinging people when we had the reputation point bug.*looks at ArtemisMS and Miko*
But the multi-coloured boxes look cool though.
EDIT: Oh well the bees are back ^^
I loved the bees ... I don´t care much about the new glowing boxes :(...and the username is out of place too...
 I liked the bees they looked rather cute, but the box's look neater, I don't really care that much as I'm never likely going to get enough rep for a rainbow box  .......*reads lents post...and looks at username*...OMG they are rather out of place, that will take a bit of time getting used to
I wonder if the boxs and user name changes, where what made aarin go down on saturday.
Thank you so much! I was very curious and totally clueless, of course. XD
Yay bee's are back ^^
:five: Yay the bees or back, and the usernames or in the right places :D, *gose off to watch the bees flying around someones rep boxs, in the hope of someday getting one*.....
Going back and forth with editing the guide for bees and coloured boxes >< lol
Don't mind either one, but glad the position of avatar, username and title are back to normal - centre position didn't look right for me.
I liked the glowing boxes better than the bees...but what I really loved was the butterflies!
Any chance of getting them back?
Yeah, the glowing boxes looked quite neat, I liked them better too.
If someone gave me negative rep by mistake how is this solved?
I checked my rep. received and I got a little red box but the person writes thanks for ttaking part in a contest.
Since this is the only entry I have with a red box I assume its negative rep. But the person says thanks so it has to be a mistake right?
So I am asking now how can this be fixed? Should the person give 2 sets of positive reps or will a mod fix this?
I would appreciate any help here, thanks ^^
Sorry - it's not reversible :(
@ spirited_soul
it's probably a mistake made by the repper ^^;; i made the same mistake too. you probably should ask the repper through PM and see whether it's really a mistake or not
...btw, it wasn't me who did that to you, right? 0______0 *is about to slap self if it is*
Sadly at the user's end, if the repper didn't mention their username in the rep comment, you wouldn't know who sent it. I think admins have a log of rep and who sent who etc.
Excuse me if this has been asked/explained before...:
Is this anonymous? I mean, when you give (or take) rep, does the person you are giving or taking get to know who gave or took his/her rep??
I know I'm a bit confusing... I'm bad with words, sorry... Still, if someone could explain, I'd be glad.
Yes it's completely anonymous for us regular users when you rep positively or negatively. What is displayed in their user cp is the post & date being repped and the comment left by the user.
If you want the person to know who you are when you rep positively, just write your name in the comment box when you rep.
Pressing the 'Thanks' button will display your name in the post you are thanking for.
I have a question. Why do some people (dm.su is a good example) have a bee but not the full set of little blue boxes?
has this been asked?? I hope not and I am too lazy to go through all 10pages O___o;;
I understand the rep system well but this is new LOL
someone repped but the green square that's usually next to it is blue! And it's the only blue one... I took a screenshot:
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1.../untitled9.jpg
yeah - just wondering why it's blue...=] LOL ignore everything else xD
yeah maybe!! LOL x3 just kinda curious as to why it's blue ^^;;; I thought it was a neg. rep but then the comment was thankful and I didn't go down LOl ^^;; and I thought it should be red instead.
I'm curious as well lol, but there's a way to know what the symbol represent, I think.
Go back to your user cp and hover over the blue rep icon. Right click and select image properties or properties and a pop-up box should be displayed providing the image location.

If you read along, you'll see the name of the rep icon
@synnesai:
IMO, The most likely answer is that there was a momentary glitch in the system and the standard rep bar for the blue forum layout showed up instead of the standard rep bar for the green layout.
They mean the same thing.
It could be that :-k
I did a search for reputation balance and from vbulletin it means when someone has a rep power of 0 and reps you, but new registered users have an automatic rep power of 1 :?
*still confused* Was I supposed to get 10 rep power points for joining? 'Cause I don't think I did.....
Rep power of 10? No - not upon registration. That's something you will gradually build up to. For more info ref how this works: See dm.su's Reputation Guide
Maybe Meyham is confused with rep power and rep points? In Dai's post, he mentioned that new users will gain 10 rep points not rep power.
thanks for the explanation, i was kind of confused before. Actually, i am still a little confused.
When a member give you a 1 reputation is 1 point power. isn't it?. I have been given good rep. and thank but it doesn't add to my rep power. But, after three or four people gave me a rep. then 1 or 2 point power add up.
is that how it works?
For explanation of reputation, please read through dm.su's guide on reputation Here.
You should get a good picture of reputation after reading the guide.
I was just curious, how do the "pips" work (the little blue squares). Because some people with more rep points than me have less pips than I do and vice versa. Are they separate things?
@staces, the blue squares and rep points are basically the same thing. For example, I have 35 rep power and if I rep you in a positive way (approve the post) you'll get 35 rep points (not the same as rep power). If I were to rep you in a negative way (disapprove the post) you'd get about 18 rep points taken away.
So when you give positive rep, the number of rep power you have is the number of rep points you give the user you repped. When you give negative reputation, half of the rep power you have are taken away from the other user's reputation points.
Some users have more rep power than you but less squares because they have been in the forum more time or they posted a lot of times, but didnt get repped much. You get 1 reputation power every month in the date you registered and also 1 rep power every 100 posts you make. Also if someone has more squares than you but less rep power, it's because they have been repped a lot when they're still new members who havent posted much, etc.
If you still have doubts read dm.su's guide Here.
I know I can see whom I have rep'ed, but can i also see if someone has given rep to me or disapproved any of my posts? I don't remember, but I think I had more rep a few weeks ago. *confused*
