Multi-Page Posts

Hi everyone!
I've had this question for a while, and I can't seem to find a solution on my own.

There are occasions when everyone may need to post something really big that cannot be shorten at some point, and I think it's pretty common that browsing an overly long posts can be a pain. Spoilers may be satisfactory for shortening a post visually, but not always for skimming through it.

I found this post a while ago and thought it's a brilliant way to make an enormous post look elegant and ordered at the same time. Since the thread is locked now I can't check how that post was made, so I'd really appreciate if someone taught me it.

You can make Advanced Lists as below:

• list item 1
• list item 2

[.list]
[.*]list item 1
[.*]list item 2
[./list]

Note: if you want a number list just change the first [.list] command into [.list=1]

and indent:

indent

[.indent]indent[./indent]

Remove the "." to use those commands properly.

But I'm referring to the Table of Contents on the right and the pages in the bottom of Dai's post. Do you know how that was made?

The only place I've seen that option available is in the Fiction section for the story chapters.

I've personally never had that much a problem with really long posts and spoilers already do a fine enough job I think to hide a lot of text.

I don't really think that's an issue, to be honest. I'm pretty sure I saw another post like that in the points related sub-forums by a regular forumer, somewhere in the contests if my memory doesn't fail me completely. Besides, if there's a BB code that can make a post into multi-page and displays properly for everyone, I don't see why a regular member can't copy-paste it and get basically the same outcome.

I saw that option in use in fiction section too, but apparently it works a bit differently there.

Like with the fiction section, that's likely a function only available in the World of Yaoicraft section, as a way of adding pages with rules and descriptions, same as adding chapters in a fiction.

But, that's just my theory. =3

Yeah it's a bit different in Fiction section but it's also not a BB code (like we are use to) but how it's set up. Edo may be right in saying it's also special for Yaoicraft and also, Dai-Kun purposely created a table of contents for that reason.

As of now, I don't think we can do that because our reply to posts and creation of threads aren't given with that option. I don't know if they would but I assume it was never an option because the majority of threads don't really require a table of contents for the most part

When creating a new thread, look for the bbcode icon as shown in the example image above. When you click it, you should then get a pop-up box to provide a title for the new page.

Or use the following bbccode:
[multipage=New Page Name]

It can only be used in the thread starting post (1st post).
