Blurry Avatar Problem

Whenever I upload an avatar its blurry. And its not supposed to be, because the original is very crisp and clear. But when its on this site and being used, it is blurry.

So I'm wondering what the problem is...

You have to make sure that the avatar meets the forum's requirements (It must be 120x120 pixels for non-contributors while contributors can have 130x130 avas or less than 19.5 kb)

edit: If you're using photoshop, when you're saving, press ALT+CTRL+SHIFT+S (I think that's Save for Web on the menu)
and play around with the quality (like from Maximum to Very Good, or decrease from 100 to around 95)

In PS, just save your avatars as GIF images...extension .gif

yes it's the size problem
save them in gif..increased contrast a little if you like

If you like you can save them in JPG format, and if the file size is still a little too big, you can always lower the quality to about 95 to 90%. The change in picture quality would be barely noticable, but the drop in file size is.
