Yeah, all the file sizes look correct... And the location of the game is fine, too.

Anyway, the point you mention in your first post, where it crashes. That's where the opening movie would normally start playing. I can't explicitly tell what type of a movie it is, but I'm going to assume that there might be a Codec conflict!

Firstly, let's start by having you visit here: CCCP - Combined Community Codec Pack

Click the yellow button, and install the latest Video/Audio Codec's. If it asks you to restart, please do.

Afterwards, try playing passed that part again. See if that works.

Hmm, well the intro movie really isn't important to anything in the story, just some flashy examples of the CG's and things you'll see later.

Try renaming the file "mpeg.pak" to "mpeg.bak" (We're changing the extension, so the game doesn't recognize it. This is intentional. If your computer asks if you're sure you want to change the extension, select "YES").

The game runs fine without loading the video so you can jump right into the next scene, which will fade from black to white, then a single word: "Death".
