The scanners are pretty much similar those days. I'm using HP AIO for some years, now I got an eprint, those wireless ones and I like. The only thing you need to know is to do it carefully or you can damage them.
Just a other question, do u need to rip apart your books to scan them right? sorry have no idea how u guys do it.
Obviously not, open the book place under scanner it is not always needed to add the lid and scan.. that is all.Quote:

You should make sure the scanner is CCD type, so you don't have to excessively bend your books. CIS type scanners are pretty much a ripoff since not only you get the blur if you don't make the pages completely adhere to it, they may also get the colors off. Even if the resolution is higher, CIS quality is crap compared to CCD.
When I bought mine, Epson used to have cheap CCD ones. I got an Epson Perfection v10.

currently i am using HP SCANNER and would say its best at present stage right now and would recommend other users to try it
