Problems with Visual Novel Reader

So yeah... title says it all.

I'm experiencing lots of trouble currently with Visual Novel Reader. More specifically the text box where the translation are supposed to be. For some reason it simply doesn't display for me...

As seen in the following two pics text threads have been synchronized properly and as far as I know this SHOULD make things work.



As you can see the menu bar at the side of the gaming window is properly displayed, but the subtitle box is nowhere to be seen! Are there perhaps people around who are a bit brighter in the head than me? Because it really is starting to get frustrating setting this thing up...

Alright, little update. I finally managed to make the text box appear, however despite the text threats being synchronized and all, all it says in the box is "Chrome Legacy Window" No idea what that means....
