photo dpi ?? (dots per inch)

Hi;p
for some reason, my school wants me to give them a pict of myself which must be at least 300 dpi, but I can't seem to find the required information on the picture;p
can anyone enlighten me on this?;p
my friend tells me its 180*180 dpi, but i still dunno what isit;p
resolution is 3264*2488 ;p

i'm a tech noob, so i dun actually understand it either >.<
i just hope someone can tell me straight out how many dpi is that,;p

DPI is the resolution printed (as opposed to displayed). 300 DPI is the asked res' for high quality press prints.

here's the requirement of the picture :
Please send us a good quality photograph (preferably natural shots) in which you are looking at the camera with your completed profile. Please send photographs with a minimum resolution of 300dpi via email. We do not accept hard copies.

in photoshop it's under the image menu, image size
not sure about home based programs like paint, they are only considering display res'

anyhow, in photoshop in image size you remove the resample image option and chage the res' to 300, it will make the image smaller but in the right res. (if you don't remove resampleing it will bland the pixels into the new size, distorting the actual picture).

hmm nero photoshap image viewer and windows picture and fax viewer;p

if you look at the file in explorer and right click it and look at the properties, I use a Dutch Windows but the second tab holds info ont he file itself and shows the DPI as well
