Hi all, forgive me if this sounds dumb, but will the English patch work with the Windows 10 Support version of TNC? I'm this close to purchasing a physical copy, but I don't want to if I can't actually play it. Any help would be great, even if it's a simple "no."
Actually, I can't tell you for certain as you would be the first one to own a copy of it (that I know of) if you did purchase it.
If it's anything like the Lamento Windows 10 update, then the English patch won't work out of the box. If the new TnC is like the new Lamento, then the game was updated to run on the newer DRAMAtical Murder Reconnect engine, so the patch would need to be remade using DMRC's compression format.
But, then again, TnC is so old, I can't honestly say if it works or not. It does use a different compression format, period. (PAK instead of NPA).
I know it doesn't help you, but at the very least you know what's going on. And if you do choose to buy it, you'll be supporting Nitro+CHiRAL, so it might make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside... ^^;;
I bought the windows 10 (digital, not physical) version and the patch did not work :(

is this what you mean? there are html, css, and img files in the Manual folder.

If possible it would be better to modify the old patches to work with the new version of the game. Especially since this version has better quality.

I hate double-posting, but this has been a few days later and I have some updates.
Apparently the NPK unlock key is embedded in the EXE for the game. I didn't know beforehand, but I felt the need to keep people posted.

Your original 1.01 version does work, but it's windowed.
So either I would love to find a way to get the 1.01 version fullscreen or get the English patch working on the Windows 10 edition.

I notice that not only are there extension differences, there are some file differences as well (data.pak missing and cg.npk is 550 MB)

Unfortunately, the Windows 10 version of Togainu no Chi (which is an updated re-release by Nitro+CHiRAL) won't work with the older English patch, as it is a completely different engine being used.Quote:

Hello, I bought the Win10 version as well is there anyway to implement the English patch at all? I really like this BL so its a shame I can't play it because I can't read Japanese...:( (Edit Ahhh Nvm I just saw what Koji said after I had posted haha. Man I hope its released soon been dying to play this game for a long time & Thankyou very much for keeping us informed Kojichan!) XD
