Sweet Pool Not Working Correctly?

Firstly I want to say sorry if this thread has already been done before but when I tried looking I couldn't find what I wanted. Anyway, I just downloaded Sweet Pool with the English patch and when i go to play the game the main menu appears. Everything works fine (the load screen & options) but when I click on 'Start' to play the game it just fades to a black screen for about a second then comes straight back to the main menu. What am i doing wrong? Can this be fixed?

EDIT: I fixed the problem myself and just want to share it so anyone else with this problem can fix it too. I didn't restart my laptop after changing the location to Japan which meant it wasn't changed correctly and couldn't play the game.
