Gakuen Prince Game Crashing

I started playing Gakuen Prince again today and the game always crashes in the exact same place during Yuu's route. I was able to find a patch for the game, but after installing it if you try to save or load a game it will give a different error message before crashing. The operating system doesn't seem to be the issue. I'm running on Windows 7 now, but I remember the same thing happening when I was playing it on XP as well.

Has anyone else had this problem before or knows how to fix it? If anyone could offer any advice I would really appreciate it!

I was always stuck on 2 or 3 routes no matter what I did many years back and I did not use a patch neither did my game crash at all on XP Pro. Can't seem to get to Hakase's route last time. Not sure where if I can even locate my game right now to check on my side.
